Clearing memories

Clearing memories

You got into my head,

my heart, my soul, so

that I did not know where

to go, how to be, except

with you, with

your energy.

And while your touch sent

shivers down my spine, you

laughed when I said I

simply loved your mind, that

you made sense to me.

But it was too much,

so no slow boat to China

for fear took hold and

you ran where I

could not follow, and I

ran too, aimlessly.

So our love lost is love

lost a lifetime

with you.

But still we smile

because we must to

appreciate what was,

and embrace the certainty

of what will never be, so

thank you, my heart, sincerely.
