Union - what are we co-creating?

I absolutely love the energy at this time of year, as the sap rises and all around life is blossoming. I find I have even more energy that usual too, and am bursting to get on with new projects and follow through on new ideas.

But really, what I love, is the increased sexual energy in the air and the draw towards greater union, and indeed intimacy, both within ourselves and in our relationships, which Beltane brings.

Natasha sent me this lovely article all about Beltane’s energy, which you can read here.

This also made me reflect more on union especially after I read what Fatih Keçelioğlu,
Founder of MyMayanSign.com wrote about this latest Mayan Trecana:

As a collective, humanity is currently facing deeply polarizing times. The political divide between left- and right-leaning views is more pronounced than it has been in decades. Whether the topic is vaccinations, Ukraine, or gender issues, opinions are becoming increasingly extreme, leaving little space for nuance or middle ground. It’s as though everything is being seen in stark black-and-white terms.

On a socio-spiritual level, I believe this division is the true “conspiracy” at work—a calculated effort to “divide and rule.” We are losing our sense of unity, a principle the Mayan Elders have always upheld. As Don Alejandro eloquently states in his prophetic message, we are like the fingers of a hand—each distinct, yet united.

Beltane is most definitely a time to unite and come together, and after a winter of hibernation, many of us are returning to the slipway at Fort Grey for another season of swimming, paddle boarding and wall jumping. This gathering and seeing people again after what felt like a long winter, reminded me of the good feelings which may arise when one feels part of something, like a slipway community!

I am conscious that Beinspired has created greater union this last year, which I accredit to many of my students who have made an effort to gather like minded souls together and share Reiki, or a bite to eat, and the intimate yoga classes and the various Reiki shares, let alone the Sark retreats, have helped too.

I have become increasingly aware how this sense of belonging has helped support healing in ways that I could never had imagined had I not seen it in practice and this has spurred me on in following intuitive nudges, especially where Beinspired is concerned, as we never really know what source is trying to create through all of us individually and indeed collectively.

This gives me hope. Because while I also feel, like Faith Keçelioğlu, that there is greater polarisation, I am also aware that if we can increasingly lead from heart and soul, following the intuitive nudges that come from source, then we can create a new reality, one in which we respond together in greater harmony, rather than pulling apart, where we can accept and approve of our differences and yet realise we are all in this together on Planet Earth.

This does require a certain letting go. I know only too well how easy it is to judge and be judged for treading a different path to the mainstream. Anything outside our conditioning and belief system is scary and we can think others are mad for their choices, and yet others can think us mad too, worrying that we are somehow messing up our lives, simply because we have chosen to live it differently to them. There is no one way. And no one will ever understand our way. There is no perfect either and the quicker we can let go of that notion too, the better.

The one thing I notice repeatedly working with clients, is the drive towards uniformity, simply because of conditioning, and the terrible time people give themselves because they don’t find the uniform way brings them joy and they make themselves wrong, struggling to view their differences as a positive thing, and question instead why they don’t fit in. But if you are round and the system is square, how can you ever fit into it? Some of us are just not meant to live like everyone else.

We are all here with our soul journey and our individual destiny and the more we can align with that, the more content we will feel, simply because it fits. We are currently in the major lunar standstill and those who have been doing the work, are being re-aligned whether they want to be or not. I am witnessing sudden redundancies, health crisis, curved balls, things coming in that are changing people’s worlds. If this is happening to you, my advice is to flow with it. Try to see the positive, there is always a silver lining to every cloud, always a blessing to be found and a gift too.

However, your mind will want to make it negative, to see it as a bad thing, because it is challenging your status quo, and there will be fear as the mind hates it when things are uncertain and unknown. It wants everything to stay the same because then it feels safe, even if it is killing us on the inside. It is time - many of its have outgrown the life we have been living, many of us need to now ditch the stories, the traumas, the beliefs that are holding us back from being more present and creating a new reality which is much more in alignment with heart and soul and our purpose on this planet for this one precious life we have been gifted, at least in this lifetime.

It is very exciting really. We are being gifted the opportunity for huge new beginnings and I for one, am keen to make the most of this energy, not least it being the new moon today, and Beltane days away but the lunar standstill too - it’s big! I have a feeling 2025 is not a year that we will forget easily, certainly not if you live in America.

This leads me back to union, because we are in this together, if only we’d realise that and do a better job of supporting each other to live our best lives, rather than engaging in fighting, judgement, conditional love and criticism as we each make choices based on our level of consciousness, conditionning, psychology, emotional intelligence, mental state and physiology, let alone energy in any one moment. I am a supporter of the Tantric tradition which says that we could never have chosen differently than how we did in that moment, otherwise we would have chosen differently. So to cut ourselves some slack, let go of regret and choose differently next time if it didn’t work out.

We always have the choice - to choose from wisdom or conditioning?

We are also co-creating with others so we need to be discerning about who we spend our time with. We waste a huge amount of energy socialising and talking for the sake of it. Those of us who are super sensitive will also lose a lot of energy by others sapping it, not that they do this intentionally necessarily, but some are drawn to us because we hold it all for them and drain ourselves in the process by doing all this holding, which we are not even aware we are necessarily doing.

This is very real btw and increasingly so when you bring spiritual practice into your life and your energy field becomes lighter. This is the reason ancient yogis, spiritual practitioners, think nuns and monks, often spent their days in silence and living quietly in caves and dwellings away from the mainstream, so they could cultivate more energy to commune with source/god and realise more of their true self.

This takes me back to Tantra and to Christopher Wallis and what he writes in his new book about the Recognition Sutras:

“In the act of perceiving, the perceiver is subtly changed by what s/he perceives, and what’s/he perceives is changed as a result of being perceived, and this is constantly happening, moment to moment, in an endless flux - the infinite dance of Awareness…

..We have learned that in any given experience, neither the object nor the subject can be said to wholly determine the nature of experience. Rather, the knower and the known are co-arising, interdependent, co-creating aspects of one reality. If this is true with any object of consciousness, how much more true is it when the object is another person? When two people are each perceivers and yet each objects of perception to the other? They are both actively co-creating a reality and modifying each other’s perception, with the result that they can create a whole world unto themselves, for in a relationship, each person becomes a person they would not be except in relation to that other being.

As Anais Nin famously put it, “Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive; it is only by this meeting that a new world is born”.

This is a reminder in many ways, to err towards union but be careful about your choice of friends, because of the reality you are co-creating. Which is why people coming together have the potential to change the world for the better, or for the worse and hence going back to my earlier commentary about being discerning where one spends ones time and with whom.

Inherent in all this, is the awareness that we are here as souls to express ourselves in the field of awareness. So maybe it is time to elevate the perspective. What is your destiny and what gets in the way of you aligning more fully to it? I am thinking now of the crystal Prenhite and how it shows up when people need to let go and let go again, of everything that is getting in the way, people, objects, belief systems, conditioning, it all needs to go and the forces have definitely been encouraging this - many of my students and clients have had the Prehnite card this year.

Obviously Reiki, yoga and Ayurveda can help with ALL of this and many of you are already committed, and I am so inspired by you all. If you are reading this and wondering what next, well maybe it is time to take that step, to bring yoga, Reiki and/or Ayurveda into your life; these are ancient practices that make a huge difference.

Astrology can help too, and if you need help knowing more of yourself and how you might best opportune and indeed navigate the intense energies, then I can highly recommend a reading with Prue, the astrologer, who is a friend of a friend, her website and details are here.

And for those who are getting in their own way - get out of it! Remember you are co-creating with source. Let the ego go and keep leading from the heart for the benefit of the collective:-)

I hope to see some of you at the Labyrinth walk on Friday to tap into Beltane earth energy and at the Yoni Yoga class on Bank holiday Monday to drop in and embrace all that these energies are offering you.

Retreating on the magical isle of Sark

One of my many lessons thus far this year, is never say never. While I had thought it was time for a change and I had taught my last Sark retreat, my students had other ideas and were quite determined that the Sark retreats should continue. And I have to be honest - I am grateful that they made it so.

The sun and the moon conspired too, and we were really fortunate to experience another amazing weekend on the magical Isle of Sark. And it really is magical; a huge crystal, vibrating with tons of prana and awash with spring flowers, the glorious weather of course helped, so too the beautiful waxing full moon, which peaked our last day.

To me, Sark is just heavenly, and lends itself beautifully to retreating. The ladies threw themselves deeply into the practice, going deeper still and the Reiki they received supported this, so too the cosmic forces, I am pretty sure we are all still trying to land. Stocks excelled themselves, always friendly, and the food was really impressive, especially for those who are gluten-free, a positive treat.

But it’s the island really, it gets right under the skin. I was delighted to find rose quartz on Grand Greve, and big lumps of it discarded in the centre of the island. The island used to be awash with Neolithic stones, now many are in hedge rows, but I did make it out to the dolmen with my stone-friend for the full moon and the stars were amazing despite the moonlight. It’s moments like this, out in nature, everyone else in bed, which one rarely forgets because the island is light spirited and it changes by night.

It was amazing in the day though too. The gorse is absolutely stunning at the moment, a real tonic for the soul, smells divine and as for the blue bells. I ventured back a few days later with the boys to immerse in it and even they appreciated how especially beautiful Sark looks in the Spring time, albeit the main focus of course was Buddy the dog, who has a new restaurant btw, great idea Tracey and Adie, can see it will be a hit this summer.

I was lucky to connect with the Sark yogis and yoginis too and Louise and Ana have been doing brilliant work there, there is now quite a yoga community and it was an honour to get to spend an hour or so sharing the Scaravelli-inspired approach. I am hopeful there will be more opportunity in the future - any excuse to get to Sark is very welcomed!

I am also delighted that one of my Reiki students, Paula, is now offering Reiki on the island, so if you are visiting then do try and get to a yoga class on the Tuesday night in the Island Hall, but also try and book a session of Reiki with Paula in the Venus Room at Stocks, as Sark’s energy lends itself so well to doing some deep healing in that magical valley, at least this was my experience working with the ladies on retreat, some old stuff came up, but maybe it was just time, but yet also place.

So a huge thank you to all your amazing ladies for encouraging me back to Sark - you were right, we’re not done yet - and for giving so much of yourselves and with such open hearts, it was inspiring and uplifting and just trying to come back to earth still, with fond memories of horses and yoga attire and just being light-hearted in our quest for greater consciousness!

I am delighted that so many of you will be joining me in October. We are back retreating 3-6th and if you are reading this and curious, then ping me an email at emma@beinspiredby.co.uk and I will send you the details before formally advertising the remaining four spaces, two or three nights, single or shared.

Thank you to the ladies for the photos, and for such a fab weekend.
