Evening Yoga to Celebrate the Spring Equinox

The Spring Equinox, also known as Ostara, falls on Saturday 20 March this year, but Emma will be celebrating it at class with you (hopefully) on Monday 22 March 2021.  It’s worth celebrating too! Spring is the dawn of the year, the time of awakening and the time of birth.  As with the autumn equinox, the spring equinox is the point of perfect balance in the earth’s journey around the sun. From now on more light will come in; spring is the sunrise of the year! In joyful response to the spring sunshine, life is opening, new beginnings and creativity are in the air – leaves are unfurling, buds are opening, shoots are growing, insects are returning, birds are singing, the land is greening and the spring flowers are blooming yellows, purples and pinks. All of life is potent and we’ll try to tap into that ‘awakening’ and balancing energy during our practice.

All are welcome, it’s time to wake up after the slumber of winter and lockdown, roll out our mats, spring clean our bodies and minds, reintegrate with our (yoga) community, and tap into the collective energy of spring. We’ll breathe, feel into our energy, practice some asana (postures) to release blocks and re-awaken parts of ourselves that have slipped into the shadows, check in some more, rest, be, raise our consciousness and be positively changed by the experience (even just a little bit!)

WHO: Everyone, the more the merrier!
