Lammas marks high summer and the union of the sun and earth, of the God and Goddess. It is the celebration of the first grain harvest, a time or gathering and giving thanks for abundance.
The word ‘lammas’ is derived from ‘loaf mass’ and is indicative of how honoured is the first grain and the first loaf of the harvesting cycle.
We will join together in circle to celebrate all the abundance and blessings in our life, with gratitude, helping to sift our perspective to something more positive (if needed) through a yoni yoga practice, outside in the field opposite St Martin’s Community Centre if the weather will permit, otherwise in St Martin’s Parish Hall.
This is also a lovely opportunity to nourish, replenish and re-connect, as the cycle turns, honouring the living intelligence of your body, and encouraging you to listen to the wonderfully intuitive voice of your heart and the innate knowingness and wisdom of your womb.
The yoga practice itself will be slow and gentle incorporating various Tantric yogic techniques including asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mudra (gestures), yantra (visualisation), mantra sound) and Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation). Oracle cards will be available too.
Katie will be offering Kirtan for 45 minutes following the Yoni Yoga and you are welcome to stay on at an additional cost of £5 per person cash.
This session is suitable for all ladies regardless of stage of life or experience of yoga.
