Imbolc is one of my favourite festivals and I can’t believe I have left it so late to organise a celebration of this magical turning of the wheel. I’d be delighted if you’d join me, especially those of you who have joined me at other turning of the wheel yoni yoga celebrations, or intend to join me in the future, so you can truly feel into the changing energy as the wheel turns…
Imbolc is amazing for many reasons but especially because it is the spark that brings the light back into life again and where did it come from? It’s like the inhalation that arises once the exhalation has taken place, like the slither of the new moon after the dark moon has passed, when we have almost given up hope, then hope is given. It is potent in its inspiration, the light that finds its way through the darkness, as we must do during our lives time and time again. There is every reason to hope.
This festival also celebrates the reawakening of the earth and the potential of manifestation inherent at this time. It is important that we listen to our intuitive self, the inner wisdom we have gained through the winter months, as we move into a more active phase of the year – it is this union of intuition and wisdom which is the power and magical alchemy of Imbolc, to bring new growth into our lives.
Imbolc is also a time for initiation and healing, for reclaiming what has been forgotten. It is a time to work with the potency of the life force and our intuitive flashes and sparks of inspiration so that we may live our dreams and visions, especially those that speak of the new age, which are not bound by our old conditioning and life patterns.
In this way, we must let go of that which no longer serves us, of core beliefs, mental programming and thinking patterns that are now unhelpful and limiting. This allows us to access the seeds of a new vision, a new way of being, and supports our healing on a deep level.
We’ll each place a candle on the altar at the beginning of the session to signify our intention to open to the light within. We’ll then enjoy a yoni yoga class together to access our innate inner wisdom and intuition, as well as deepen into heart and see what might be holding us back, any fears lurking in the dark, that prevent us from living a life of purpose, of our potential.
We’ll finish with the opportunity to write down our intentions, dreams and visions for this turning of the wheel, and those of you who are Reiki attuned can give this Reiki and add symbols too if these are known to you. Oracle cards will be available.
The class will include: A Tantric yoga practice to deepen connection between heart and yoni (womb space) weaving together asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mudras (hand gestures), Yantra (visualisation) and a guided relaxation. Also the opportunity to write down our intentions/dreams/visions. Oracle cards are available too.
All women are welcome, from complete beginners to those more experienced. This is very introspective practice, you simply turn up and turn within – eyes closed is encouraged!
