Yoni Yoga to celebrate Samhain

** Booking required **

At Samhain the dark half of the year commences – it is a truly magical time. Death is always followed by rebirth and while it is the end of the year for Pagans, it is also the beginning of the new year, and the sunset was celebrated for the darkness it brought, reminding us that it always begins with darkness.

Light always follows the darkness, it is born from it, they are interdependent, inseparable and absolutely necessary. Always we are reminded in the yogic texts that from darkness comes light and Emma’s latest book, From Darkness Comes Light reflects this.  While it might feel uncomfortable, darkness is fertile with ‘all potential’. With the beginning of this dark phase comes the opportunity to rest and reflect on the past and to dream of new beginnings.

Traditionally the veils between the worlds are at their thinnest at Samhain, boundaries dissolve and all is laid bare. It is a time to also honour our ancestors.

Please join Emma to celebrate and opportune this potent time of the year, embracing the darkness and seeing what needs to be surrendered and let go, and what needs to be brought into the light, nurtured, cherished and (re)created.  It is also a wonderful time to reflect on your ancestors and acknowledge them and all they brought to you.

It may also help you to ‘know thyself’, honouring the living intelligence of your body, and encouraging you to come closer to the wonderfully intuitive voice of your heart and the innate knowingness and wisdom of your womb, so that you may connect more fully with your highest truth and re-align as necessary.

The yoga practice itself will be slow and gentle incorporating various Tantric yogic techniques including asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), mudra (gestures), yantra (visualisation), mantra sound) and Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation). Oracle cards will be available too. You are invited to bring an offering for the central altar, which might also be an offering to your ancestors.

This session is suitable for ALL ladies regardless of stage of life, fitness level or experience of yoga. Please honour your body, rest as much as you need.
